The student starts as a White Belt and progresses in training through the Yellow, Green, Blue, Purples, Red on to Bo Dan then Black Belts. Black Belt students progress from 1st Dan to 10th Dan. Our junior classes are AGE SPECIFIC. This has a powerful effect on the children as they learn age appropriate curriculum. They are learning with their peers and so the classes are very enjoyable and extremely affective. We have chosen to do this because children are so different in their development with respect to their social, physical, mental, understanding of language, memory and so on. Follow the links below to see how our belt system is organised. WHITE - Signifies innocence, as that of a beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Taekwondo or Hapkido. YELLOW - Signifies the Earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the Taekwondo or Hapkido foundation is being laid. BLUE - Signifies the Heaven, towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as training in Taekwondo or Hapkido progresses. RED - Signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control and warning the opponent to stay away. BLACK - Signifying the maturity and proficiency in Taekwondo or Hapkido. It also indicates the wearer's imperviousness to darkness and fear.
