Grading Day is upon us again!
We have our eligible Tiny Tigers and Pandas grading this Saturday morning from 9:30am, with the Wolves' turn at 10:30am, so no classes this weekend. Remember the full white dobok must be worn, no t-shirts. Good luck to all the kids grading!

Its back to school time already! - so....Welcome back to class if you haven't already joined us this year! Our training returns to the normal scheduling as of Monday 23rd January.
We also have gradings for some of the junior students on 28th January. Emails have been sent out to the students involved, and Sabom has the intention to promote forms.
Please admire Sabom's handiwork when you next come in to the Dojang, our current project should be finished very soon - a brand new information wall, to hold and display all the relevant info you need. Timetables, calendars, upcoming events, student creed ..all available on the wall. There is even a brand new (paint still drying brand new!) blackboard wall to keep the kids amused while you or older siblings train.

The Gracie Way ep8 with appearance by Kwan jang

This episode was shot durning the 2011 Gracie Academy Instructor Certification Program (ICP) in Torrence, California which was attended by our own Brad Hope. (Kwan jang makes appearances at the 1:15 & 1:30 marks of the video)

School holidays are rapidly approaching for most families at the school... so we will be reverting to our holiday schedule of combined classes for the six weeks of state school holidays.
Starting 12th December, Tiny Tigers, Pandas and Wolves will be able to train every day at 4:30pm - 5:30pm; a great opportunity to get in those make up classes for the time we are closed over Christmas/New Year!
Adult Taekwondo will be at 5:30pm every day plus our Monday and Wednesday morning classes.
Hapkido and Gracie classes will be together at 6:30pm following TKD.

Busy BUSY time of year for everyone isn't it?? We are no exception here at the Dojang! We have several changes to our routine coming up in the next few weeks. No weekend classes at all for the next three weeks!
We have Junior Hanmadang tomorrow (12th), and the senior Hanmadang next Saturday (19th) For those who have never heard of this before its like Taekwondo Olympics. Students will compete in teams and individual events and all get a medal too! We still have room for any Juniors who want to come in tomorrow morning..starts promptly at 9:30am
The final grading for the coloured belts for the year will be on the final Saturday of November, Intent to Promote forms are out, so if you didn't get one and think you are eligible, please let Deb or Sabom know and we will check it out for you

After a resoundingly successful first Bullyproof program held in September, we are pleased to announce we will be conducting a second Bullyproof Program during the first week of December school holidays (9am - 12 noon, 12 -16 Dec) at the Dojang in Smithfield Cairns.
In response to many requests, we will also offer an afternoon of Taekwondo camp after Bullyproof morning session, so for a small extra fee, you can have a full day of activity for your child 9am - 4pm. Please call or see Deb to book your places! 4057 7869

Australia's First Gracie Academy Certified Training Centre Featured

Brad Hope has become Australia's first Gracie Academy Certified Instructor after recently returning from his successful trip to Gracie Heaven in Torrance California. Brad Hope Family Martial Arts also has the honour of becoming Australia's first CERTIFIED TRAINING CENTRE!!!!
